Weekly adult tennis clinics at Bartlett will begin Monday, June 29th. Cardio tennis clinics will be held from 6:00 – 7:30 pm Mondays and skill clinics will be held from 9:00 – 10:30 am Thursdays. The cost of each is $10.00 per session and will be conducted by St. Bonaventure University Tennis Coach Mike Bates.

Bartlett PGA Professional Danny Kaye will host junior golf lessons on Wednesdays beginning July 1st from 8:30 – 10:30 am. Member’s children and grandchildren between the ages of 7 and 13 are eligible to participate.

The 2009 Bartlett Country Club MGA Member-Guest Tournament will be held Thursday through Saturday, July 9^th - 11^th. Early signup is encouraged, and event co-chairs David Weidt and Randy Langdon have announced that members who sign up by June 20^th will receive three free greens fee guest passes that can be used any time this year (except for tournaments).

The 2009 Betty Bergreen Junior Invitational will be held  August 12 -15 at Bartlett Country Club. The 16 junior golfers participating in the 2009 Penn York Junior Golf League who post the lowest averages in the Penn York tournaments qualify for the Invitational.

Mike Bates, St. Bonaventure University tennis coach, will again offer two weekly clinics this summer (both cardio and skill training).  The dates will be published once they are determined: he may offer one morning and one evening clinic instead of two morning clinics as in the past.

The field is set for the 20th Annual Russell Houghton Memorial Pro/Am, to be held Monday, June 8^th at the Bartlett Country Club. PGA professionals from throughout the Western New York and Pennsylvania regions will be partnered with Bartlett members and compete for cash and team prizes.

The Bartlett Country Club MGA will host a Blind Draw Tournament Sunday, June 7^th. Two man teams will be formed by blind draw. Breakfast is at 7:30 am followed by golf.

The registration deadlines for several important MGA golf events, including the Russell Houghton Memorial Pro/Am, the President's Cup, the Two-Man Better Ball, and the Steeplechase are fast approaching. Make sure that you have signed up in the pro shop.

Bartlett Country Club will offer a dinner buffet on Sunday, May 24^th, following the Scotch Foursomes tournament. The buffet is open to all members whether they participate in the tournament or not and will be the only dinner option for the evening.

The Bartlett Country Club pool opens Friday, May 22^th, at 3:00 pm. Pool hours are Monday-Friday 3-8 pm, Saturday and Sunday 11-8 pm. The Snack Shack will open at 12:00 noon.

Recording artist Maria Sabastian will perform at Bartlett on Friday, May 15^th, from 6:30 - 9:30 pm. She has recorded 4 of her own CD's and has shared the stage with artists such as Roger McGuinn, The Gin Blossoms, Eddie Money and Collective Soul.

The Bartlett Country Club Women's Golf League begins play Wednesday, May 13^th and the Men's Golf League begins Tuesday, May 19^th. If you already have a partner make sure that you sign up in the clubhouse. If you would like to play but do not have a partner, contact PGA Professional Danny Kaye, who will assist you in finding one.

The Jamestown Community College Golf Tournament, proceeds from which benefit the college, needs participants. The tournament, a four person scramble, will be held Wednesday, May 20^th. Registration is at noon, with a 1:00 pm shotgun start.

Bartlett Country Club Golf Superintendent Jim Wesley and PGA Pro Danny Kaye announced today that the loop is available for play, provided there is no frost. Stepping on greens and tees while there is frost can kill grass and cause hard to repair damage.

Member contributions generated by a campaign organized by Stu Smith have enabled Bartlett to upgrade the TVs in the Grill Room, replacing the older model televisions with high definition, flat panel TVs. The upgrade will make the Grill Room the place to enjoy Sabres and Bills games, the upcoming Master's Tournament, and many other sporting events.

Seating in the Grill Room and Lower Dining Room will be limited for Friday evening dinner, February 27^th.  The Southern Tier Symphony will be holding its fundraiser Strings and Things in the Ballroom and Dining Room.

The Bartlett Country Club Board of Directors will hold a general membership meeting on Tuesday, October 28^th, beginning at 6:00 pm. The current state of the club and plans for the future will be discussed and new Directors will be elected.

The Bartlett Country Club Greens Committee has announced plans to renovate the approach and the area to the left of #6 green. The renovation will improve the aesthetic beauty of one of the best golf holes in the region, while simultaneously addressing multiple issues of drainage and root infringement that was affecting the quality of the green. The renovation will both enhance the playability of the hole and permit the greens crew to more efficiently maintain it.

Recording artist Jamie Nortarthomas will appear Friday, October 10^th, in the Bartlett Grill Room. He will perform a tribute to Van Morrison and James Taylor as well as his own material.

The Bartlett Country Club Board of Directors has announced the second amendment to the By-Laws that were issued March 4, 2003. The amendment is to take effect November1, 2008, and will replace Section 1 of Article VII, Board of Directors.

Italian Night returns to Bartlett this Wednesday, October 1^st, in the Grill Room. The menu will feature the finest and freshest Italian cuisine in our area from 5:00 to 8:00 pm every Wednesday.

Bartlett Country Club will host the 20th Annual Leo Keenan Collegiate Golf Invitational this weekend, October 4^th - 6^th. Fourteen teams from colleges throughout the northeast and midwest will compete. Specators are welcome to cheer an the Bonnies and see some exceptional intercollegiate golf.

The Bartlett Country Club Clubhouse will begin winter hours on Wednesday. October 1^st. The Clubhouse will not be open for dinner on Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday evenings until next spring.

Bartlett PGA Professional Danny Kaye, 2008 Western New York Senior Professional Golf Champion, will compete in the National Senior Club Pro Championship in Palm Springs, October 2 - 5.  A top 12 finish in California will qualify Danny for the 2009 Senior PGA Championship.

Bartlett Country Club will host a Member-Member Tournament this Sunday, September 28^th. The entry fee is $20 per person, with tee times from 8 am till noon.

Bartlett Country Club will host its annual Western Night on Friday, September 26^th. The evening features live entertainment by Scott Sheeser and Enchanted Mountain Bluegrass as well as a Chuck Wagon Buffet with barbeque baby back ribs, smoked beef brisket, corn on the cob, baked beans, and more.

The MGA Handicap Steeplechase will tee off Saturday, September 20^th, at 3:00 pm. The tournament is limited to qualifiers, but spectators are welcome.

Chris Blocher and David Suchora shot a better ball score of 65 to win the scratch division of the Higgins Memorial Golf Tournament Saturday, September 13. Scott Kellerman and PJ Gronquist finished second (66) while Dan Reiley and Norm Strotman tied with Tom Smith and Steve Kubiak for third with 67s.

Bartlett Country Club announced it will offer a special Community Trial Membership for $200 beginning Wednesday, September 3^rd. The offer is open to all residents of Western New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania.  The community membership will enable prospective new members and fellow community residents to enjoy the challenging, well-manicured Bartlett Golf Course and the amenities of the clubhouse for the balance of the 2008 golf season.

Bartlett PGA Professional Danny Kaye won the PGA Western New York Senior Championship with a two round total of 145. The championship, held Thursday and Friday, August 26^th and 27^th, at Chautauqua Golf Club, qualifies Kaye for the Callaway Golf PGA Senior Professional Championship to be held October 2-5 at the Toscanna Country Club and Andalusia Country Club in California.

Joe Heister and Bob Harlan shot a better ball score of 58 to win the Labor Day Weekend Holiday Better Ball Tournament and the team of Terry and Mary Benca combined for a sizzling 55 to win the annual Me & Mine Couples Golf Tournament on a spectacular Labor Day weekend at Bartlett.

The team of Katie Langdon and Melody Jones overcame a seven point deficit on the final day of competition to defeat Leslie Voorhees and Donna Sweet to win the 2008 Women's Golf League Championship Wednesday, August 27^th. Sandy Heister and Megan Stevenson finished third.

The team of Frank Aiello and Dr. Donald (Corky) Grzankowski won the Tuesday Night Men's Golf League Tuesday, August 26^th. Dr. Zahid Cohan and John Camus finished second while the team of John Brewer and David Weidt finished third.

The 2008 Men's League Championship will be decided this evening, Tuesday, August 26^th. Frank Aiello and Dr. Donald (Corky) Grzankowski are tied with John Brewer and David Weidt for the league lead, and two other teams are within four points of the leaders. Play will be followed by a dinner to honor the league champions and reminisce about season hi-lights.

The 2008 Bartlet Country Club Couples Member-Guest Golf Tournament is scheduled for Sunday, August 24^th. The tournament includes a continental breakfast at 9:00 am, a 10:00 shotgun start, cocktails and hors d' ouvres at 3:00 pm and dinner at 4:00 pm.

Bartlett Country Club will host the 2008 Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday, August 23^rd. The format is a four-person scramble with a 9:00 am shotgun start.

The Mayor's Cup Golf Tournament, to be held at Bartlett on Monday, August 25^th, is looking for players and encourages Bartlett members to sign up. The cost is $50.00 for Bartlett members, and includes a steak bake after golf.

The 72nd Annual Southwestern New York -  Northwestern Pennsylvania Men’s Amateur Golf Tournament will be held at Bartlett Country Club from August 5^th through August 10^th. The 18 hole qualifying round will be held on Wednesday, August 6^th, with match play beginning August 7^th. The championship flight 36 hole final will be held Sunday, August 10^th.

The team of Gary Rougeau and Steve Tripodi lead the Men's Golf League while the team of Leslie Voorhees and D. Sweet head the Women's Golf League entering the final three weeks of the season.

Bartlett's Friday Night on the Patio hosts recording artist Jamie Notarthomas Friday, July 25^th, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. Food and drinks specials will be available on the patio.

Dr. Donald (Corky) Grzankowski and his brother, Ernie, won the 2008 MGA Member-Guest Tournament, held Friday and Saturday, July 18^th and 19^th, with a two-day score of 124. The team of Dick Young and Mike Suchora finished second with 126, and Wayne Johnston and Jason Honeck were third with 130.

The Bartlett Country Club's Men's Golf Association Member/Guest Tournament is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, July 18th and 19th.

Qualification for the handicap and scratch steeplechase events are open until Labor Day, September 1. Candidates are chosen from the lowest net and gross rounds posted through Labor Day.

The MGA Holiday Better Ball Tournament, the couples Scotch Foursome Tournament, and a Chicken and Rib BBQ dinner are on tap this Sunday, July 6^th.

The Men's Golf Association will hold a two-man better ball blind draw tournament on Saturday, June 7^th. Players will be divided into two groups and teams determined by a blind draw. The tournament will begin at 1:00 pm with a shotgun start.

Bartlett Country Club will host the 19^th Annual Russell Houghton Memorial Pro/Am Tournament on Monday, June 9^th. The tournament provides members the opportunity to play with PGA professionals throughout Western New York and Northern Pennsylvania.

The Bartlett Country Club pool will open Friday, May 30^th, at 3:00 pm. The opening was delayed by inclimate weather in May.

Bartlett Country Club has reciprocal agreements with ten clubs in the Western New York and Northern Pennsylvania. The agreements permit members to play on these courses without paying greens fees.

The opening of the Bartlett Country Club swimming pool may be delayed by the weather. The pool has been drained and cleaned and is ready to be primed and painted, which requires several coats with curing between coats. The ten day weather forecast, however, is not favorable to meeting the opening day goal of May 23.

The Bartlett Country Club Marketing and Membership Committee announced Thursday that Club memberships have increased by thirty-two this spring, following an increase of twenty-five memberships last year.

The Men's Golf Association opening Stag Day is Thursday, April 24th. The golf course is in beautiful condition and the weather looks great. Tee times are available from 11 am. to 6 pm. Please contact PGA Professional Danny Kaye in the pro shop to make arrangements (372-5176).

Bartlett Country Club has undertaken a major reinvestment in golf course maintenance equipment. The Club purchased two fairway mowers, a greens mower with verticutters, a trim mower for our green perimeters, and a new tractor. The Club plans to acquire a green aerification unit at a later date this season.

RJ Pauley will appear in the Bartlett Country Club Grill Room on Friday, April 25, from 7:00 - 11:00 pm. A bar menu will be available throughout the evening.

Friday Night, March 28^th, is Retro Night at the Bartlett Country Club with music by Randoo. The music and dancing will transport us back to the 50's, 60's and 70's from 7:00 to 11:00 pm.

The dates for the 2008 Bartlett Country Club Member-Guest Golf Tournament have been moved to the third week of July. The tournament will be held on Thursday, July 17 through Saturday, July 19.

Members of Bartlett Country Club should have received a mailing from the Club's Board of Directors with election forms for joining the President's Club, paying 2008 dues, and member minimum calculation. Please note that the forms must be returned to the Club by March 15, 2008.
